English translation of Sahir Ludhyanwi Nazam " HIRAS" .

                          FEAR

That thin line of smile on your lips.
Frequently flickers in my thoughts.
Sudden image of your eyelids comes
As if the fire flares up in twilights

Fascinate pheromone of your coloured costumes,
Produce dreams press to poise in my mind
Each gust of winds in the cold silent of night
Breath & heat of your body feel fervent wide.

I can broadcast the blazing secrets
But scare to fanfare of these outcomes
I can divulge the dreams in the day light
But shake with sequel of sweet dreams

Breathless of your breath & silence of your eyes.
Actually, may it not be a thoughtful sport?
I could comprehend the looks of that love
That grin, that gabs, may it not be your habit?

After meeting with you, affair under which I am.
First understand the fate of that thought then I say.
I am strange & alien to your city
Meaning of your favour understands then I say.
In the case that, my feet get trembled.
And may not get the help of your marmoreal arms?
Tears keep on trickling in dark silent night
And not access the edge of your silky cloths?

English translation of Sahir Ludhyanwi Nazam " ISSEE DO RAHE PAR"

                         On this crossroads.
Now I will not put the steps into lofty houses.
Once I made a vow of this kind.
For sake of my poor love defeated
Life already gets ashamed & irritated.

And, affirmed even on the condition of ruin
Songs of energetic love, I will never sing.
Beyond curtain if someone calls I will move advancing
In case any door opens then I will come back returning

Again the seductive smile of your trembling lips
Starts weaving net, keep on weaving, still weaving
I attracted towards you but you for my ways,
Choosing flowers, keep on choosing, still choosing.

My mind & imagination mist the snow but.
Unknown fire in the heart at last emblazon
Your silent gazing with blazing eyes ascertain
My resentful being too gets mad for passion.
Don’t hide the view of your gesturing sights.
I can comprehend the style of these subjects.
Pledge of your lofty golden windows
I can understand the fate of these movements.

Now I will not put the steps into lofty houses
Once I made a vow of this kind.
On this crossroad of fortune & distress.

Life already gets ashamed & irritated.

THIS WORLD.

                                 THIS WORLD
This domain of palatial palaces, crown & royalty.
The enemy of mortal, such is the world’s community
Custom of the world appear to be wealth lusty
What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

Everybody shattered each soul eager.
Vision are vague heart are bitter.
Is it a dwelling world or a place of clutter?
What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

Survival of human here is merely a game
Sphere where the dead rest habitat its name
Here the death is cheaper than vital flame
What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

Youthfulness loiters to be criminalised.
Young build embellish as if for advertised
Here emotions bargained for commercialized
What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

The world where man existence nowhere.
Fidelity has no place friendship nowhere
Where account of love, affection nowhere.
What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

Burn it, blow it this world.
Beside me remove this world.
Its yours, so take hold of this world

What is the merit if anyone gets this world handy?

Anti pollution rules on vehicle emissions

Anti pollution rules on vehicle emissions

Increasing respiratory problems especially among children tells the horror story of the environment of the urban city that is turning toxic & poisonous due to emissions of the vehicles. This is compelling the people to breath in the toxic gases reluctantly. The most affected & victim class of this pollution are the children as well the embryo in the womb of the mother who have not completed the tri semester of the pregnancy.

The situation of poisonous environment is undoubtedly life threatening which is spoiling the adulthood of the children. Before attaining the age of adulthood most of the children start complaining of the coughing, sneezing or wheezing. Even the children get shorts of the breath due to respiratory problems developed on account of the poor functioning of the lungs. In several cases, children may die young.

The smokestacks of industries & the exhausts of the vehicles is polluting the breathing air which is having the devastating effect on the body & mind of the people. A survey of Delhi reveals that 20000 school children found that one in every eight had asthma. Besides this most of the people have had dangerously high level of lead in their blood from air polluted by motor vehicles. In rural areas the cooking is generally done while using the cow dung & other materials which releases the smokes & make the home itself the death trap for the little children who remains around the hearth. Statistic reveals that the asthma, pneumonia & respiratory infection usually caused by the toxic air. It is amazing & horrifying facts that most of the children do not see their fifth birthday as they succumbed to the illnesses linked to the air pollution. Here I would like to mention that the most affected class are the children who have shorter tracheas than the adult people. So the pollutants emitted by the vehicles or the industries easily invade & start damaging the function of lungs badly. Likewise whenever the children take the sport activities they take more air 20 to 50 percent than the average adult. So they inhale the pollutant available in the atmosphere more than others. Tiny & little children whose noses are very small & works for filtering the air inhaled by them, usually gets blocked & swollen with the pollutants. As a result of which they have to inhale the breath from their mouth. Since the mouth does not work as the filtering of the air inhaled by the persons So the pollutant got through the mouth directly hit the lungs & make the children badly suffers.

We can imagine the the pollution rising up with the increasing of the vehicles every year. There are almost 20 lacs of cars & jeeps in the country which is going up day by day. Nobody is worried about the problem of environment; neither the govt. is serious for introducing the strict system of check & balances of neither the environment nor the public is aware about the health hazards of this killer atmosphere that is engulfing the especially younger generation.

Under these circumstances, it is need of the hour that National Govt should come forward to impose & enforce the strict anti pollution rules on industries & vehicles emissions. This depends upon the political will if the Govt. really wants to reduce the acceptable level of sulphur fuels. I hope that the children health will be improved if the certain restrictive measures will go into effect. Govt. should strive hard to establish the standard quality level of air that meets the US environmental protection agency & WHO standards. For maintaining this standard Govt is expected to plan the regular check up of the control pollution equipment of the industries as well as the emissions of the vehicles. Govt. should restrict the number of cars on road by auctioning the rights to own a vehicle.

Drastic measures are needed to be taken in time otherwise life  expectancy would be in peril for which society will have to pay the price to protect the health from environmental dangers.

Codeine Addiction, Abuse & Effects.

                         Codeine Addiction, Abuse & Effects.
Most of the chemist are supplying the codeine syrups to the addicts without any fear of the Narcotics control bureau and Drug Controller General of India. Statistics of the various states reveal that the use of addictive ingredient is much higher than actual demand of the states which clearly shows that the substance (Codeine phosphate) is going to the addicts. Chemist is free to dispense the cough syrups in bulk quantity without proper prescriptions. In this backdrop, it is essential to start a crackdown against the improper practices going on in this field. Concerning bureaus & department should chalk out strategy to suspend the licenses of the chemist shops across the states for illegally selling the cough syrups to the addicts. Whosoever, whether chemist or the distributor found indulged in the malpractices should no longer be ignored & perpetrators of the crime should be brought to the book.Cough syrups addiction is especially rise among the youth as its easy availability is the preferred source of addiction. Most of the doctors are of the view that this affects the all age group people.
Parents should be vigilant on their school going kids who may take this drug under these circumstances:-

1-Poor performance, dipping grades, absenteeism, ignoring home work, overlooking major exams & sudden change in peer group.
2- Moods swings, irritability, fatigue & loneliness.
3- Secretiveness is a vital sign and those dependent on drugs, tend to work overtime to hide bottles.
Besides this the side effects of this drug are as follows:-
1-   Prolonged use causes breathing problems,.
2-   Swelling of throat, lips & Face.
3-   Anxiety attacks, hallucination, dizziness, high blood pressure, impaired judgement and trembling of hands.
4-Codeine may cause addiction or withdrawal symptoms in a newborn if the mother takes this medicine during pregnancy. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medicine. Codeine can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. The use of codeine by some nursing mothers may lead to life-threatening side effects in the baby. Do not use codeine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
There are particular many girls & housewives among the addicts who use it either for euphoric purposes or to tranquilize their anxiety for longer days. So the girls & housewives are advised not to use it as recreational or anti-depressant because it has serious side effects.
So be careful, before you gulp down it.

Who cares about the rules of the road.?

-:Who cares about the rules of the road:-
Roads are held swayed with chaotic traffic flouting the traffic rules. People can do everything on roads except the driving with sensible way.  Over speeding driving has become the fashion of the youngster which causes the injuries to the pedestrian as well as the other people driving on road. Besides this trendy young generation use the mobile phone while driving the vehicles. All these activities play havoc in the lives of the other people walking/ driving on the road. Most of the accident takes place due to self centred nature & behaviour coupled with drunken driving, using mobiles while driving  & no regards for traffic rules by the drivers. Reckless driving compels the pedestrian to walk on the footpath to the opposite direction of vehicle because they do not want to leave themselves to the mercy of the driver who can hit them from behind at any time. It is shocking to note that most of the drivers do not like to wear the helmet or attach the belt in car while driving. Here I would like to bring into your notice that cause of the death of satirist Jaspal Bhatti was that he had not fastened his rear seat belt. Had he fastened his rear seat belt, he could have survived in the car accident. In most of the car accident the occupant of rear car seat passengers who used to fasten their rear seat belts usually survive the accident. From this fact it is quite clear that neither the passengers nor the drivers are serious about their own safety, nor then we should not expect them that they will get the load of   the safety & security of others? When will we learn the proper civility or who will cultivate the driving discipline in our drivers to ensure the safety & security of everybody on the road? Can the police or the RTO whatever they are doing is sufficient & abundant to bring traffic chaos & anarchy to the screeching halt?  In this regards, RTO needs to put in place the transparent mechanism of training after which the necessary driving licenses should be issued or renewed. We know how the driving licenses are managed by the agents. Licenses must be issued by the RTO to only those who prove themselves to be mindful, heedful during trials of driving & qualify the test of being fully acquainted with the traffic rules otherwise the issuance of license in connivance or collusion of the traffic norms would be a license for a misadventure, catastrophe that will either afflict himself or become the cause of the suffering, mutilation & trauma to others? In this backdrop police as well as RTO should craft a blue print to keep a strict vigil all over such activities to get the offenders punished. Driving Licenses of incorrigible & defiant drivers must also be cancelled along with the confiscation of the vehicle that behave in irresponsible way & act in transgression of traffic rules. Besides, this people should also know that the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 which made it mandatory for makers of the vehicle to install the seat belts both in front and front-facing rear seats and Section 138 made it "imperative" for the driver and the persons seated in the front seat and front-facing rear seats to fasten their seat belts when the vehicle is in motion. Till 1994, the rules were restricted to front seat passengers. But in 2002, it was extended to rear seats. In this context most of the expert says that people are not fully aware of the rules that is why the legislation in this regard is not being enforced.

The story of chen shu chu, the generous vegetable seller

The Generous Vegetable Seller.’ This story is very inspiring I hope the story will move people to do their part for the less fortunate of our society.

After the morning hustle and bustle, the atmosphere at Taitung county’s Central Market quietens as every stall shuts for the day and their owners return to the comfort of their homes.
. With head bowed, the other stall owners have fondly given her the title of “market manager”.
In the dark and damp market, Ms Chen, nearing her 60s, holds the stall her father left her dearly. Yuan-Jin Vegetables
With her vegetables selling at “a bundle for NT$30 ($1.30), three bundles for NT$50 ($2.15)″, she earns only marginal profits.
Yet, her frugality has allowed her to donate about NT$10 million ($4321,550) towards various charitable causes, including helping schools, orphanages and poor children.
The selfless generosity of a woman with such humble income has placed her under the international spotlight.
she emerged under the Heroes of Philanthropy category.

Fellow Taiwanese and Oscar- winning director Lee Ang wrote her entry personally.“Money is worthy only if given to those in need,” he quoted Ms Chen. He also wrote: “Amazing, but of all she has given away, her greatest gift is leading by example.”
The local authorities decorated her stall with congratulatory posters and banners hailing her as the Pride of Taitung and the Model of Philanthropy.
There are fans who turn up at the stall with a vegetable basket and a camera, hoping for a picture with Ms Chen.
Despite all the attention, she remains humble. “I have done nothing extraordinary and anyone who wants to can do it. There are many other charitable people; we just don’t know about them,” she said. Ms Chen, who is unmarried, added: “I do not place great importance on money. When I donate to help others, I feel at peace and happy, and I can sleep well at night.”
She also feels for the poor, having experienced hardship in her younger days.

Born in 1950, Ms Chen lost her mother after completing her primary-school education.
Ms Chen saw her father asking their neighbours for money, but it was too late to save her mother. She gave up her studies and dedicated her life to helping at the vegetable stall.
When she was 18, her younger brother fell sick and the illness dragged on for over a year, gradually depleting the family’s savings.
Doctors suggested that the family send her brother to Taiwan National University Hospital, but they could not afford the fees.
SIMPLE LIFE WITHOUT LUXURIES
Assisting in the setting up and maintenance of the fund is Mr Li Guo-rong, who teaches Ms Chen’s nephew.
In 2001,
When he approached Ms Chen, in the hope that she might contribute NT$50,000, Li was shocked when she said she would fund the entire project. The school was sceptical, but Ms Chen was determined.
In May 2005, the two-storey library was completed and named Chen Shu-chu Library in honour of the “Vegetable Market heroine” alumnus.
Ms Chen’s ability to donate such large sums of money has led many to ask: How can a mere vegetable seller earn so much?
“Spend only what you need, and you’ll be able to save up a lot of money!” said Ms Chen.
Since 1996,
To achieve this, she explained that
“This is a simple act that anyone can do, isn’t it?” she said.
Ms Chen leads a very simple life without any luxuries. She does not have any desire for material gain nor any form of enjoyment.
Work, she said, is her enjoyment. “I love my work. If I didn’t, would I be able to work 16 hours a day?”
Everything else is a luxury. She does not buy expensive clothes as “I do not socialise much, hence, there is no need for such beautiful clothes. The clothes from the roadside stalls are good enough for me, and, even then, I like to bargain”.
a bowl of vegetarian rice and a bowl of noodles for NT NT$55. Freeze whatever that cannot be finished, spend another NT$20 on a can of gluten and add that to the rice with some hot water.
“This becomes porridge and is very tasty,” she said.

Since her return from New York, Ms Chen has been working even longer hours. She has a new goal: To collect NT$10 million to set up a Chen Shu-chu Bursary aimed at helping poor children pay for school fees and medical bills, things she could not afford as a child.
“All I need is to sell a few more vegetables, save a little more money, in addition to a number of insurance policies that are near the end of their term. A lot of people are also willing to donate. I am sure there won’t be any problems,” she said.
Mr Li, who treats Ms Chen like a sister, said that setting up the bursary is actually a good way to let her retire from selling vegetables and start influencing society with her reputation, in the hope that there will be more generous “Chen Shu-chus”.
As for Ms Chen, she said: “My philosophy in life is simple: What others say is not important.”
She is content with what she has and feels that as long as she “lives a life she wishes for and does the things she wants, that is good enough”.
The family survived on the parents’ meager income as vegetable vendors.
she became the youngest vendor in Taitung City’s Central Market, selling vegetables ever since for nearly five decades.
. Her brother told Taiwan’s Liberty Times that , and Chen’s sweetheart eventually married someone else. From then, working at her stall in the market to sell vegetables became the main priority of her life.
She said because she had been helped by others in the past, she vowed to also help the poor. She says that’s how she has found happiness, and even when physically challenged, she perseveres to sell vegetables at the market.
“Money serves when it is used for those who need it,” she said in a newspaper account.

When asked why she was so generous in donating her hard-earned money, she said, Life is short, and you don’t know when you will die. I don’t have a son, so what would I do with all the money I have saved? ”
Although Chen has become one of Taiwan’s hottest media stars since she was chosen as a Time magazine 2010 role model, success has not spoiled her. She has asked the media not to hang around, as she wants to get back to her usual routine of selling vegetables in the market right away.

“The point of Chen’s story is that all of sudden many people found that even though they may not be rich, their tiny but persistent small donations may come as a great help to some people,”said Hu Yu-fang of United Way.
inspired by Chen, . Hu is 88 years old, explaining to reporters that he no longer needs the money.

Chen Shu-chu’s story has great lessons for all of us. It is possible for on the world. Money serves its purpose only when it is used for those who need it.
I am very inspired and humbled by this vegetable seller’s frugality, generosity and most of all her humanity. Her spirit and kindness is what we human beings should aspire to.
